Pumpkin Spiced Latte

It is that time of year!  You can tell the fall season is among us by the vibrant colors in the trees, the brisk cool crispness in the air and Starbucks now has the pumpkin spice latte!!  Honestly, I'm a extra bold person, black in the morning and a little cream in the afternoon. I don't really groove on the flavored coffees, but boy does Brian! Iced  Carmel Machiatto in the summer,  Egg Nog creamer in the winter and of course Pumpkin Latte or creamer,  which may be his favorite.   See...already have the creamer in our fridge!
Coffee mate: 1 Tbsp serving: 35 calories, 1.5 g fat, 5 carb, 0 protein

When Swanky Dietitian posted a recipe for a 'friendlier' version, I immediately thought of him and with all the ingredients at home already, was ready to make and convert!  I did switch up her version (which she lightened up from another version) because I rarely drink milk and thought the almond milk would be a great compliment to the pumpkin anyway.

Pumpkin Spiced Latte
1 cup hot almond milk, unsweetened
 1 tsp organic sugar
 1/8 vanilla extract
 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
2 oz. double strength brewed coffee

Heat milk and spices until heated through without boiling. Carefully transfer to blender and process until frothy. Pour coffee into cup and then top with hot milk blend. Garnish with pumpkin pie spice

Per 1 CUP serving 50 calories, 2.5 g fat, 4 g carb, 0 protein AND 50% DV of Vit E!

Needless to say, Brian ADDED his creamer to my version, hummpgh!!!
